July 2016 – Highland Games
Educational Events
The Irish Setter Club of Seattle provides educational opportunities for both its membership and the public. Our members can take advantage of grooming, handling, and training seminars, and we also offer speakers at
some of our club meetings. One recent event was a weekend of field
training taught by a professional. Our club also endeavors to educate the public about the Irish Setter.
This is done in a variety of venues, from booths at all-breed dog shows to visiting elementary school classrooms. We have had a booth at The World of Dogs Exhibit at the Puyallup Fair , one of the largest in the country, and we participate in the Annual Pacific Northwest Highland Games , held in Enumclaw each July.
Mid-March rain-or-shine, we march with our dogs in Seattle’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade , which is always a great opportunity to show off the beauty and personalities of our favorite dogs!
